Local Crime Stoppers seek info on firearm thief
Mitchell police are searching for a man who allegedly stole four firearms on Aug. 20.
On Wednesday, the Mitchell Area Crime Stoppers released its Crime of the Week, in which a man believed to be 45 to 50 years old stole a 1992 Winchester .218 covered in leather, a 1994 lever-action Winchester .22 rifle, a 1999 Savage .250 and a bolt-action rifle at approximately 8 p.m. on Aug. 20.
According to the Crime of the Week, the suspect stole the firearms at a residence on the 300 block of South Isadore Street.
Those with information regarding suspicious activity in that area at that time, or other information relating to a crime, are asked to call 996-1700.

A minimum of $250 is paid for rewards on all "Crime of the Weeks" solved through Crime Stoppers. Mitchell Area Crime Stoppers, Inc. offers this reward. Rewards will not be paid if crime tips, leading to an arrest, are not made directly to Mitchell Area Crime Stoppers, Inc. by telephone, text message or by web tip.
To date, 348 crimes have been solved through information provided by Crime Stoppers.
