Celestine "Sally" Puthoff

Celestine "Sally" Puthoff, 96, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Humboldt, passed away on June 10, 2018 at Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls. Visitation will begin at 5 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm at St. Ann's Church in Humboldt. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 14 with a rosary to begin at 10:15 am at St. Ann's in Humboldt with Father Bob Krantz and Deacon Roger Puthoff officiating. Burial will follow at St. Ann's cemetery, Humboldt.

Sally was born September 26, 1921 to Richard and Mary (Zeier) Roth near Dimock, SD. After graduating from St. Peter and Paul Grade School in Dimock she worked for families in Remsen, IA and at Sacred Heart Hospital in LeMars, IA. Sally married Lawrence Puthoff on November 8, 1943. They were married almost 35 years until his death in March of 1978. They farmed in the Humboldt area, where they raised 12 children and she was a loving wife and mother who was always there for them. Along with her husband, they also worked for several years as a team at Westward Ho Country Club in Sioux Falls until Lawrence died in March of 1978. After that she worked as a site manager for senior citizens in Humboldt, later doing respite care. She always enjoyed playing cards and visiting with many friends and relatives while living in Humboldt. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Humboldt.

Sally is survived by her children; Georgiana Donahue (special friend Bob) of Marshalltown, IA, Larry Puthoff of Sioux Falls, Mary (Roger) Mueller of Mankato, MN, Lyle (Shirley) of Salem, Jim (Donna) of Sioux Falls, Eileen Muellenberg (special friend Mark) of Rapid City, Anita (Jim) Morris of Sioux Falls, Karen (Ray) Anderson of Sioux Falls, Roger (Karla) of Huron, Chuck (Linda) of Sioux Falls, Cheryl (Dan) Barenklau of Humboldt; 27 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

In death she joins her parents, her husband, one son Dennis, a grandson Scotty, a great granddaughter Geri Marie, two daughters-in-law, Geri Puthoff and Mary Lou Puthoff, one son-in-law Steve Ingalls, four brothers, George, Leonard, Victor and Wilford
