A lot of things can get lodged into the bumper of a vehicle while traveling down the highway, but no one could ever predict this. While a motorist was traveling down Interstate 5 in Washington state recently, a black handgun became lodged into the front bumper. According to a Facebook post from the Washington State Patrol: A driver said they saw a small "black object" flying through the air while traveling on I-5.
NEW YORK CITY - A former Playboy centerfold and her 7-year-old son are dead after jumping from the 25th floor of a Midtown hotel Friday morning, May 18. Stephanie Adams, 46, and her son Vincent were pronounced dead at the scene by authorities, according to the New York Daily News . Adams and her son were found on a roof next door to the Gotham Hotel after the apparent suicide leap, police said.
ANTIGO, Wis. - Raymond Jack “Ray” Szmanda, known by many Midwesterners as “the Menards guy,” has died, according to his family. He was 91. Charles Szmanda, son of Ray, confirmed his father’s death in a Facebook post Sunday, May 6. Szmanda was the Menards spokesperson for over two decades, and was the star of countless television and radio commercials.
THABAZIMBI, South Africa - The owner of a South African wildlife park is lucky to be alive after he was dragged and mauled by a lion after entering the animal's enclosure. Mike Hodge, 67, was rushed to a local hospital with neck and jaw injuries as a result of the incident, which occurred on Tuesday, May 1, according to the Daily Mail.

A man, struggling with the decision to take his own life, was on the verge of jumping off a Detroit freeway overpass, a move that would likely end his life. Then, state troopers and local law enforcement decided to make an out-of-the-ordinary call for backup: 13 (heroic) truckers. One by one, the truckers, with the help of police, pulled up next to each other, side-by-side, forming a wall underneath the overpass in an effort to prevent the man from jumping off the overpass.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A 36-year-old Nashville, Tenn. man, who was known to dress up as Spiderman and wash the windows at a local children's hospital, has been sentenced to 105 years in prison for various child pornography crimes. Jarratt A. Turner was sentenced Monday, April 16 in U.S. District Court on multiple instances of production of child pornography and transportaion of child pornography. According to court records:

PONCE INLET, Fla. - A pair of Florida fisherman got the surprise of a lifetime Saturday, March 24, when a massive great white shark decided to circle their fishing boat. The two fisherman, Kyle Morningstar and Ian Smith, of Port Orange, Fla., happened to capture the shark circling the boat on video with their cell phones.
